Cellini Spiral Necklace with silk (BW134)
Whilst watching TV I noticed a poster in the background of one of these scenes in these colours and immediately made a note to make something using them. I just adore the ochre and grass greens together - with ivory between to help them pop.
I turned to cellini (pron. chellini) spiral stitch and am pleased with the result. I threaded a mix of rolled silk and frayed sari silk ribbon in matching colours through the beadwork for the strap and used another piece of rolled silk to create a fastener that allows the necklace to be adjustable. Simply pull the knotted ends to make it bigger to put on then hold the fastener and pull each side to adjust to the length you want.
I've made a few cellini spiral necklaces before and all have sold immediately as they can be worn with so many different outfits and for so many different occasions.
The beadwork part of this necklace is 10" (255mm) long and approx. 2cm wide.
