Rainforest Beaded Labradorite Lariat (BW62)
The focal point of this long lariat-style necklace is a beautiful 60mm x 300m piece of polished labradorite. The colours and depth of the stone put me in mind of a rainforest and I extended this thought into the beadwork. Here I've used complementary colours in seed beads, bugle beads and little flower cubs and 'leaves'.
It is all very free form - based largely on St. Petersburg stitch.
The necklace is 36" (93cm) long, 22" to the top of the labradorite with around 6" of fringing below it. It is designed to move, the dangling 'vines' can be tucked around the main body or left to swing out.
This necklace is totally original - I won't make another like it and you won't see anything like it anywhere else!
Wear it with a plain top or dress to show off your wearable art necklace!
