Spoil Yourself Sundayposted on 23 October 2011 | posted in BlogBungay's Fisher Theatre was the venue for WIRE's (Women in Rural Enterprise) fundraiser for Breast Cancer Care, well supported by members and lots of ladies bent on having a good time whilst supporting a worthy cause. The raffle bra (pick a square – most went for the outside before venturing into nipple territory) was a great way to get the party started although that official honour went to Look East's newsreader, Susie Fowler-Watt. As a thank you for giving her time WIRE gave her a gift, donated by me – a lovely apatite necklace and earrings set. She hasn't worn it on TV yet but did contact me later to tell me she is thrilled with it. Susie visited most of the stalls – there were quite a few, including mine. It was a treat to see models of all shapes – brave creatures – strutting their stuff in lingerie then evening wear. . My daughter was there to help me and we were both intrigued to learn more about which colours to wear from a talk given by a representative from the House of Colour. We have decided we are both Autumn. No more vivid primary colours for us – they are now the reserve of Winter and Summer people – instead we are going for turquoises and teal, russets and burnt oranges, chocolate and charcoal instead of black, and creams rather than white. Pity I wore the wrong colours on the day – a white shirt with lapis lazuli necklace! Somehow the official photographer, the very talented Antonella Muscat, (oh, that reminds me – we had wine tasting too!) managed to get me in a pic. I hate having my photograph taken as they always come out showing me much shorter, wider and scruffier looking than I am in real life. Perhaps once I am wearing the right colours my true willowy self will appear! Spoil Yourself Sunday was a fun way to spend an afternoon and a great beginning to the many craft fairs I have coming up in the lead-in to Christmas!
