Wandering the Waveney (BWD08)
The river Waveney encircles the town where I live and it is along its banks that I see so many pretty dragonflies and damselflies. That inspired me to make this necklace. It is fairly freeform - I made it as I went along using a netting stitch and stitching on tiny blue beaded dragonflies and a few bulrushes created with seed beads.
It's a quirky piece and not for everyone! It is a collar and designed to sit at the base of the neck, so it is shorter in length than most of the necklaces I make - 16" (410mm) measuring the inside curve.
It fastens with a large Czech firepolish bead which threads through the loop.
Wear it to your next garden party!
